WLAN Products of HED Won the Prize of ‘China Semiconductor Innovative Products and Technology’

The wireless local area network baseband protocol processing chip launched by CEC Huada Electronic Design Co., Ltd won the prize of ‘the third (2008) China Semiconductor Innovative Products and Technology chosen by China Semiconductor Industry Association, China Electronic Materials Industry Association, China Electronic Production Equipment Industry Association and China Electronics News on Jan. 16, 2009. 


HED08W04SUA is the wireless baseband SoC chip meeting GB15629 series national wireless standard and related standard of IEEE802.11. This product can provide creative functions besides general functions of wireless LAN as follows.

Firstly, the chip matches Chinese and international standard at the same time, supports WIFI and WAPI and meet 3C/FCC specification, which conforms to GB15629 serial national wireless standard, Chinese wireless LAN security standard as well as the related standard of IEEE802.11a/b/g/i/e. 


Secondly, the chip provides the ‘secure multi-mode. The security algorithms co-processor is built in the hardware of chip, which supports security standard of WAPI/WEP/WPA/WPA2. In addition, its encryption and decryption has no effect on the throughput and does not take up CPU resources of host. Safe Mode can be configured and switched through software

Thirdly, the chip provides capability of ‘multi-mode network’, which can support the coexistence of four separate working networks and one management network, and each working network is identified with one SSID. The ‘multi-mode network’ provided by this chip is achieved by means of hardware rather than software, where several independent working networks co-exist really.

Fourthly, the chip provides the mixed configuration of multi-mode network’ and ‘secure multi-mode’ and supports coexistence of several working networks,. Each working network uses different safe mode (e.g. the configuration of a working network is WAPI safe mode, and the other working network is WPA/WPA2 mode. These working networks with different security configuration work together and they can be isolated or mixed by driving

Fifthly, the chip possesses the capability of ‘roles of device multi-mode’, namely, a chip works for two roles of device, for instance, the role of device of AP(access point) can work with the role of device of network card together.
